Retired professor of history of science and comparative literature, J.-C. Guédon has been involved with electronic publishing since 1991. One of the original signatories of the the Budapest Open Access Initiative in 2002, he has been active in the area of Open access and Open Science ever since. He has collaborated with the Open Society Foundations, UNESCO, the UN and the European Commission on issues related to scholarly communication and publishing, and published widely on the topic, including in Brazil.
